Augustus Coleman McCurry

Mr. Augustus Coleman McCurry, age 69, of 526 N. Red Rod Road, Toccoa, GA, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at his residence.

A son of the late Leonard Barto and Henri Sue Westmoreland McCurry, he was born September 27, 1944 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived his entire life. He was employed with Vermont American for some 27 years and was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a sister Cozette Bennett.

Survivors include his wife Melba Collier McCurry of the home, son and his wife, Jeffery & Paula MCCurry of Athens, GA, 4 grandchildren, Elijah McCurry, Eileen Totter, Drew & Shaun Tottter, 2 sisters and their husbands, Carole & Ed Hickman of Toccoa, Crystal & Clifton Smith of Martin, 2 brothers and their wives, Douglas & Dorothy McCurry of Toccoa, Dale & Shirley McCurry of Toccoa, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 5 PM Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Leon Miller officiating.

The following will serve as pallbearers, Keith McCurry, Kevin McCurry, Shaun Totter, Mike Davis and Aubrey Thurman.

Interment will be in the Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mr. Coleman McCurry.
