Mrs. Peggy Joan Phillips Leverett, age 93 of 77 Vista Way, Eastanollee, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at her residence.
A daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth Phillips, she was born March 30, 1921 in Reading, England having lived most of her life in Stephens County, Georgia. She was a member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church and a volunteer Pink Lady at the Stephens County Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy E. Leverett, Sr.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Pat and Melvin Potter of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Joan Carter of Eastanollee, Georgia; three sons and daughters-in-law, Guy E., Jr. and Peggy Leverett of Apollo Beach, Florida, Jack and Barbara Leverett of Eastanollee, Georgia and William T. "Tom" and Adele Leverett of Martin, Georgia; twenty grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 26, 3 O'clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Gwin Hanahan officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Craig Leverett, Clay Leverett, Tommy Leverett, Daniel Leverett, Eran Bowers and Russell Cheek.
The family will be at the home on Vista Way and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM.
Interment will be in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Peggy Joan Phillips Leverett.
