Tommy Lester Thomas

Tommy Lester Thomas age 67 of Dahlonega passed away on April 20th, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following and extended illness.
Mr. Thomas was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was a member of the Farmhouse Friends at Farmhouse Produce. Mr. Thomas was also a Vietnam Veteran and served from 1966-1968 where he earned a purple heart.

Mr. Thomas retired from Cargill, Inc. after 35 years where he was employed as a maintenance specialist.

He is preceded in death by his parents Marvin Thomas and Jesse Camelia Thomas and brother Nicky Thomas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Susie Thomas of Dahlonega, GA; sons and daughters in law Kevin and Pamela Thomas of Dahlonega, GA; Kurt and Sabrina Thomas of Atlanta, GA; Sister and brother in law Sue and Jerrell Sullens of Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren Bo, Van, Jolene, and Levon Thomas of Atlanta, GA.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 2pm April 23, 2014 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, he will be placed in state at 1:30. Interment will follow the service at the church Cemetery, Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Darren Palmer, Rev. Les Fuller, and Rev. David Skinner will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday April 22nd, 2014 from 1 pm until 9 pm and again on Wednesday from 11 am until 1 pm at Dahlonega Funeral Home.
