Margaret Ellen Franklin

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Margaret Ellen Franklin, age 78 of Cleveland. Mrs. Franklin passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014.
Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00pm, Saturday, April 19, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Paul Flynn and Rev. Mike Kitchens officiating. Interment will follow in Gateway Memory Park.
Ellen was born in Habersham County on March 10, 1936 to the late Victor Cowart and Parolee Lyons Cowart. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Virginia London. Ellen was employed by Orbit Manufacturing in Helen for a number of years, spent the last several years as a homemaker. She loved the outdoors, whether it was camping , sunbathing or simply doing yard work, Ellen loved to be outside. She could also be seen at almost every antique car event in the area. Ellen was a member of Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church.
She is surived by her husband, L.G. Franklin, Cleveland, daughter Wanda Hood (Eddie) of Cleveland; sons, Billy Franklin and Ricky Franklin, both of Cleveland; sisters Barbara Thurmond, Cleveland, Marie Allen (Ted), Cleveland, Martha London, Cleveland, Janie Blackburn (Hugh) Cleveland, Cheryl Mize (Ross) Cleveland, brother, Tommy Cowart (Sue) also of Cleveland; grandchildren include Rodney and Shelly Seabolt, Jody and Melissa Hood, Ashley Franklin, Brooke Franklin,BJ Franklin, Christy and Larry Orr. Ellen is also survived by her ten great grandchildren
Flowers will be ackowledged, however it is requested that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 743 Spring Street, Gainesville, GA. 30501.
