Ken Lollis

Ken Lollis, age 68, of Dahlonega, GA died Monday, April 14, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA following an extended illness.

The son of the late Milford and Katie Glenn Lollis, Ken was born in Anderson, SC, but spent most of his adult life in Lumpkin County. A very loving husband and father with a wonderful sense of humor, he was also an avid outdoorsman as well as a very talented welder and professional diver. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Ken was a Deputy Sheriff in Anderson, SC in his younger years, welded for North GA Boat Docks in Forsyth County, and had worked at Timken in Dahlonega. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

Ken is survived by his wife, Margie Miller Lollis; son and daughter-in-law, Heath and Kim Coleman, Cumming, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Wilburn Etheridge, Suches, GA; mother-in-law, Lois Miller, Dahlonega, GA; sister, Susan Templeton; brothers-in-law, James and Archie Miller, Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Tiffany Dale and fiancé, Chad Fulton, Dakota, Rebecca, and Levi Etheridge, and Ava and Bryn Coleman; niece, Katie Nixon, SC; great nephews, Blake and Brandon Nixon, SC; and special family members, Perry and Glenda Sue Weaver. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Ken are scheduled for 1 PM Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Jr Abernathy and Rev. Phill Miller will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 12 PM until 8 PM.
