Nina Jonette Castleberry 'Jo' Wilkes

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Nina Jonette Castleberry "Jo" Wilkes, age 90, of Jefferson, Georgia, who passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Mrs. Wilkes was born in Atlanta, Georgia, a daughter to the late John Kalper Castleberry and the late Nettie Turner Conkle Castleberry. Mrs. Wilkes was retired from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, where she was an Administrative Assistant and was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church. Mrs. Wilkes hobbies included working on Genealogy and Hybrid Roses. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilkes was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Claude Glenn Wilkes, two children, Kenneth Wilkes, and Michelle Wilkes, along with two sisters, Ellen Warwick and Josephine Castleberry.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Wilkes Hale of Nicholson, son and daughter in law, Charles and Susan Wilkes of Londonderry, New Hampshire, 2 grandchildren, Claudia Hale-Jinks of Ocala, Florida and Collis Hale of Tampa, Florida; 2 great grandchildren, Charley Jinks and John Jinks both of Ocala, Florida and sister, Betty Massey of Ellijay, Georgia.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Ray officiating. The burial will follow in Jackson Memorial Park. The visitation will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014 from 5-8pm at Evans Funeral Home.
