Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Hazel Davis Smith, age 77, of Jefferson, Georgia, who entered into rest on Monday, April 14, 2014. Mrs. Smith was born in Jefferson, Georgia, a daughter to the late Claude B. and Novie Turpin Davis. Mrs. Smith was a member of Faith Baptist Church, retired from the textile industry and the restaurant business. Hazel was a loving and caring Mother and Grandmother to her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her two brothers, Clyde Davis, Ed Davis and two sisters, Dot Pittman and Eva Edwards.
Survivors include her son, Richard Smith, son and daughter in law, Tommy and Debbie Smith all of Jefferson, daughter and son in law, Donna and Vince Patten, Cumming, sisters, Roberta Wood and Claudia Chastain both of Jefferson and brother, John Davis, Danielsville, 9 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Evans Funeral home with Rev. Richard Hoard officiating. The burial will follow in the Woodbine Cemetery with Jonathan Stancil, Jason Black, Jimmy Chastain, Jason Chastain, Bradley Wood, Dale Wood and Blake Ledbetter honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5-8pm at Evans Funeral Home.
