Betty Moore Beck

Mrs. Betty Moore Beck, age 78 of 1290 Grady School Road, Canon, Georgia passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at her residence.

A daughter of the late Herman and Perna Philyaw Moore, she was born March 14, 1936 in Habersham County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Toccoa, Georgia. She was employed with Milliken and Company for a number of years and later with Roper Pumps in Commerce, Georgia as a security guard and was a member of Carnes Creek Baptist Church. She was twice married, first to Eugene Roberts and second to Anil Beck. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Roberts and by a granddaughter, Stephanie Roberts.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Clifford Leachman of Hartwell, Georgia, Gail Allen of Toccoa, Georgia, Gloria and Bruce Pruitt of Eastanollee, Georgia and Ramona Roberts of Canon, Georgia; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 11, 2014, 2 O'clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Dan Bailey officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, W. D. Hunt, Jr., Chris Allen, Brandon Bohannon, Brannon Shedd, Brian Shedd, and Ricky Shedd.

The family will be at the home on Grady School Road, Canon, Georgia and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Interment will follow in the Carnes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Betty Moore Beck.
