Mr. Hoyt L. Fowler, 93, of Buford, GA passed away on April 6, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Lula Mae Thornton Fowler. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Franklin Compton, Buford, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Larry D. and Charlotte Fowler, Lavonia, GA; grandchildren, Robert D. Fowler, Buford, GA, Melony and Ken Wilson, Nashville, TN, Chris and Dana Fowler, Buford, GA, Brett and Jennifer Compton, Flowery Branch, GA, Lance and Stephanie Compton, Flowery Branch, GA, Josh and Alicia Compton, Buford, GA; ten great grandchildren, Wil Hand, Sarah Wilson, Hayley Fowler, Hunter Fowler, Maddie, Reagan, Griffin, Rhodes, Mason and Kinsley Compton; brother, Horace and Mary Fowler, Montgomery, AL; sisters, Boncille Armstrong, FL and Jean Frazier, Loganville, GA; brother-in-law, Tommy and Patsy Thornton, Buford, GA; sister-in-law, Polly Thornton, Buford, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Fowler was born August 19, 1920, in Buford, GA. He was a retired carpenter from Akin Flanders Company. He was a member of the Carpenters Local 225 International. He was a member of New Bethany Baptist Church, Buford, GA. He loved reading and watching John Wayne movies. He also enjoyed going to Florida for the beach and Disney World.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Cansler, Sr. and Rev. Chris Fowler officiating. Eulogy will be given by Franklin Compton. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA.
