Obituary Date: Sunday, April 6, 2014

Mrs. Lizzie Mae Posten, 88 of Murrayville died Sunday April 6, 2014 at home peacefully in her sleep.

Funeral services will be Wednesday April 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Marty Murphy will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday April 9, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lizzie Mae was born on December 24, 1925, in Gainesville, GA to the late Duke and Dona Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur Posten, and daughter Shirley Spicer, her brothers, Floyd Wheeler, Boyd Wheeler, Eddie Wheeler, Clarence Wheeler, sisters, Teddie Colbert and Cledith White.

Mrs. Posten is survived by her sister, Jesse Bell Smith of Lula, sons Merle Posten and James Posten, both of Murrayville, grandson, Toby Posten and fiance Janet Hawkins, Lula, granddaughters, Casey Posten of Murrayville, Laura Mae Posten of Murrayville, Elaine Spicer of Tennessee, and Samantha Lingerfelt of Dahlonega. She had many great-grandchildren the she adored, and a special family friend, Willie Mae Wilson, who ment a lot to Lizzie Mae.
