Mary Elizabeth Speed Bryson

Mary Elizabeth Speed Bryson, 68, of Clayton, GA went home to her Heavenly Home Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at her residence, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

She was a life-long resident of Rabun County and was the daughter of the late Ray Raleigh Speed and Lois Dotson Speed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Charles Speed.

She is survived by her loving husband, Forrest Coleman Bryson, of the home; one daughter, Tamara Bryson Marcus and her husband Darion of Clayton; two brothers, Allen Speed and Dennis Speed, both of Clayton; and two sisters, Glenda Talley and Dianne Gragg both of Clayton.

Mary worked for the Rabun County Tax Assessor's Office for many years and was a very loving and caring wife and mother. She was a devoted member of Battle Branch Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 3, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 4, 2014 at Battle Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Madison McCrackin officiating. Burial will follow in Flats of Middle Creek Cemetery, Scaly Mtn., NC with Pastor Cale Stancil officiating.
