Kathryn Greene

Kathryn Greene, 92, of Gainesville, passed away at her residence Wednesday.



Born on November 18, 1921, in Birmingham, AL., she was the daughter of the late Selman Blake and Gladys Andrews Knight. She moved to Gainesville in 1952.



She was an avid golfer at the Chattahoochee Country Club, and played every week until she was 86. Mrs. Greene was a member of the Ladies NEG Golf Association and a member of Gainesville First united Methodist Church. Alabama football was her passion and her favorite quote of Bear was: If you want to walk the heavenly streets of gold, you gotta know the password "ROLL TIDE"





In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, W.M. "Mac" Greene and son, Michael W. Greene.



She was a devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother.



She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wilmot McRae and Carol Greene Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Terry Shoaf; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Rex and Jenny Greene; daughter Cheryl Poole; 16 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Jerry Gill will officiate. Interment will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 3:30 p.m. until the service hour.
