Gerda Houp

Gerda Houp, 80, of Dahlonega passed away Thursday March 27, 2014 at Gold City Convalescent Home following a period of declining health.

Born May 19, 1933 in Rostock, Mecklenburg, Germany, she came to the U.S. in 1964 and had resided in North Georgia since 1999. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Dahlonega Ward, she formerly worked as a nanny and owned and operated a sewing shop in Augusta, GA.

Surviving are her brother, Bruno Lüth, Unzeberg, Germany and special friends, Lee and Ann Church, Dahlonega.

Funeral services will be held Saturday March 29, 2014 at 2 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Bishop Robert Weischedel will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour on Saturday.
