Richard Worthy Tidwell

Richard Worthy Tidwell, age 74 of Murrayville, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Danny Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Tidwell was born July 16, 1939 in Carrollton, Georgia to Howard Edward Tidwell and Clara Bell Griffis Tidwell. He served in the U. S. Army and was retired from Swedish Match Tobacco Company and was a member of Northlake Baptist Church. Richard was a loving husband for 51 years, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Edward Tidwell and his sister, Joyce Stogner.

Mr. Tidwell is survived by his wife, Geraldine Tidwell of Murrayville, daughter & son-in-law, Michelle & Darren Highfield of Gainesville, son, Chris Tidwell of Murrayville, grandson, Sam Highfield of Gainesville and his mother, Clara Tidwell of Carrollton.
