Lou Ella Wood, age 95, of Gainesville, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 28, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Terry Crawford and Reverend Mark Russell will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 4 - 8 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wood was born November 25, 1918 in Danielsville, Georgia to the late H. A. Campbell and Lessie Stover Campbell. She graduated from Air Line High School in 1936 and was the last living member of her graduating class. Lou Ella was retired from Sears Department Store and was a member of New Holland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, J. D. "Fuzzy" Wood and her brothers, Gordon, Rudolph, Odis and Ralph Campbell.
Mrs. Wood is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Dianne & Rodger Crawford of Gainesville and Carole & O'Neal Latty of Blue Ridge, Georgia, son & daughter-in-law, Jim & Valerie Wood of Gainesville, grandchildren, Suzanne Crawford, Nora Lowery, Will Latty, Kami Wood, Kari Kelly and Katie Scali and 8 great-grandchildren.
