Jeannie Marie Collier Carswell,

Jeannie Marie Collier Carswell, age 60, of Hollywood passed away at her home Tuesday, March 25th, 2014 due to an extended illness.

Mrs. Carswell was born in Toccoa, Georgia on July 25th, 1953. She was the daughter of Drucilla Bailey Collier of Hollywood and the late William Mose Collier.

Mrs. Carswell's passion was reading and she also enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting, and was a talented artist. She and her husband loved the outdoors and enjoyed traveling to the beach each year. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a member of Ebenezer UMC in Hollywood.

In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by mother-in-law and father-in-law, Louise & Charles Carswell; brother-in-law, Jerry Carswell.

She is survived by husband of 40 years, David L. Carswell of Hollywood; daughter, Jessica Carswell Howard of Hollywood; son and daughter-in-law, Ben and DeAnne Carswell of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Ally and Gary Lewis of Marietta; brother, Bill Collier, and wife Lisa of Mt. Airy; sisters, Lisa Yearwood of Mt. Airy, Ginger Morgan of Vero Beach, FL, and Cindy Ballew of Fairview Community; and grandchildren, Lauren Howard, RJ Howard, Jasmine Howard, and Evie Carswell; brother-in-law, Chris Carswell (Nicole) of Toccoa; sisters-in-law, Charlene Carswell of Alpharetta, Loraine Mattison (Van) of Eastanollee, and Nancy Scott (James) of Toccoa; also surviving are loving nieces, nephews, and many other extended family members.

Funeral services are 2:00 pm Friday, March 28, 2014, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Hollywood with Rev. Tony Kemp and Rev. Roger Whiten officiating. Interment will follow at Chopped Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. All friends and family are requested to meet at the church by 12:30 pm on Friday.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday.
