James Gerald McCurry

Mr. James Gerald McCurry, age 85 of 820 Collier Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Stephens County Hospital.
A son of the late Ned H. and Clarkie Era Camp McCurry, he was born March 22, 1929 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of his life in Stephens County. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, retired from Coats and Clark and a member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Melva Ivester McCurry; daughter, Linda White of Watkinsville, Georgia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Dawne McCurry of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Anthony and Ann McCurry of Suwanee, Georgia; four grandchildren, Jason White, Courtney White, Jennifer Warren and Brett McCurry; two great-grandchildren, Jackson White and Hadleigh Warren; two sisters, twin sister, Geraldine Camp of Toccoa, Georgia and Janie Sue Cox of Anderson, South Carolina; number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 26, 2014, 11 O'clock AM at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Roger Whiten officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Michael McCurry, Anthony McCurry, Jason White, Bryan Warren, Brett McCurry and Dale Dickerson.
The family will be at the home on Collier Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 PM to 8 PM.
Interment will be in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Bob Massey officiating.
