Janet Kay Wood Ivester

Funeral services for Janet Kay Wood Ivester, age 60, of Clarkesville will be held Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 3:00 PM from the Hills Crossing Baptist Church. Rev. Walter Singletary and Rev. Warren Adams will officiate with interment to follow the service in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Ivester died Thursday, March 20, 2014.

Born in Habersham County on August 30, 1953 Mrs. Ivester was the daughter of Willene Spivey Wood and the late Iate Henry William "Bill" Wood. Mrs. Ivester was a member of Hills Crossing Baptist Church and she was retired from North Georgia Technical College where she was a media specialist.

Survivors include son and daughter in law Chad and Christie Dodd Ivester of Martin, mother Willene Spivey Wood of Clarkesville, brother Glenn Wood of Clarkesville, brother and sister in law Mark and Janice Mote Wood of Clarkesville, granddaughter Jessica Dodd, great granddaughter Peyton Dodd, and niece Amber Wood.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM and from 6-8 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Hillside Memorial Chapel, 5495 Highway 197 S., Clarkesville.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hills Crossing Baptist Church, PO Box 1142, Clarkesville, GA 30523. Please reference either the Helping Hands Ministry or the Gideon Bible Ministry.
