Roy Walter Mickler

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Roy Walter Mickler, age 86, of Hoschton, Georgia, who passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014. Mr. Mickler was born in Mobile, AL, a son to the late Leon Walter Mickler and the late Mary Ann Bates Mickler. Mr. Mickler was a Mechanical Engineer and was a member of the Living Word Worship Center. Mr. Mickler was a veteran of the U.S. Army, First Lieutenant, serving in the Korean War where he was awarded a Bronze Star.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Mickler, Hoschton, sons, Steve Mickler, Snellville, David Mickler, Clarkesville, grandson, Evan Mickler, sister, Nellie Boyer, Mobile, AL and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, March 23 at 5:00pm in the Living Word Worship Center, 267 Mahaffey St., Jefferson, GA 30549 with Rev. Mark Mobley officiating. The burial will follow on a later date in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorials made to the American Cancer Society ,1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605
