Dennis 'Ray' Smith

Dennis "Ray" Smith, 75, of Dahlonega passed away on March 17, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. A life time resident of Hall County, Mr. Smith was born May 22, 1938. He was the son of the late Virgil and Lois Smith.

He was retired from Ralston Purina where he worked in the maintenance department. He was a veteran of the Navy and was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife years, Lanelle Smith. They would have been married 55 years on March 21st.

He is survived by his daughters and sons in law, Denise and Randall Conner of Dahlonega, Lisa and Tommy Wilson of Gainesville; granddaughter, Brandi Paul; grandson, Austin Conner; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Lee Smith; sister, Patsy Baum; sisters and brothers in law, Betty and Ernest Gaddy, Mary Ann and Larry Lee; sister, Martha Hayes and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday March 21, 2014 at Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Franklin Grant and Rev. Robert Nix will officiate. Interment will follow in Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and again from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
