J. T. Dodd

Mr. J T Dodd, age 77, of Dahlonega, GA died Monday, March 17, 2014 at his home following a period of declining health. J T was a Dawson County native who had lived in Lumpkin County for the past 15 years. He was a former resident of Hall County.

J T worked in the construction industry and in the poultry industry. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Lula, GA.

He was the son of the late Robert Dodd and Lizzie Smith Dodd and was also preceded in death by brothers, Billy Dodd, Robert Lee Dodd, and Donald Dodd; sisters; Ruth Tumlin, Betty Eubanks, Roberta Jackson, and Frances McKenzie,

J T is survived by his wife of 51 years, Juanita Dodd, Dahlonega, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne Dodd, Dahlonega, GA, Darlene and Ronald Prince, Dahlonega, GA, Janice and Larry Lowman, Dawsonville, GA; brothers, Kenny Dodd, Rockmart, GA, Ronald Dodd and David Dodd, both of Texas; sister, Martha Dodd, Cornelia, GA; grandchildren, Justin Grizzle, Christopher Prince, Ben Pirkle, Heather Watkins, Bridgett Lowman, Lexi Lowman, Lake Lowman, Tripp Lowman, Ensley Lowman, Ron Adams, and William Watkins; great-grandchildren, Stacey Watkins, Abby Blackburn, Cody Prince, Jason Tweedell, Reece Pirkle, Caitlin Mathis, Hunter Gable, and Jeremiah Tweedell. Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for J T are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Lula, GA.

Rev. Johnny Stone, Rev. Wayne Strickland, and Rev. Robbie Ledford will officiate.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 7 PM until 9 PM, all day on Tuesday March 18th, and again on Wednesday, March 19th until the time of service.
