William H. "Bill" Drymon

William H. "Bill" Drymon, age 73 of Clarkesville, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Drymon was born June 5, 1940 in Sarasota County, FL to the late Herbert Joseph and Sarah Sines Drymon. Mr. Drymon was a retired firefighter having worked for the Sarasota County Fire Department for 28 years having served as Fire Chief and also for the Habersham County Fire Department for 5 years having served as Fire Chief. Mr. Drymon was a lifetime member of the National Firefighters Association and a member of Chattahoochee Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Drymon, Tom Drymon, Jim Drymon, sisters, Betty Albritton and Juanita Drymon.

Survivors include his wife, Genell Drymon, Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Billie Lee and Danny Gregg, Clarkesville; step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Scott and Robin Dills, Rabun Gap; grandson and wife, Chris and Melissa Gregg, Flowery Branch; step-grandchildren, Kimberly Dills, Dakota Dills, Kyndal Dills, all of Rabun Gap; sister, Sybil Manning, Orlando, FL; nieces, Bonnie Hilderbrandt; Emily Kyle, both of Orlando, FL; Brenda Campbell, North Carolina; Oveida Santos, Oxnard , CA.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Chattahoochee Baptist Church. The Rev. Chris Anderson, the Rev. Michael Wilkes and the Rev. Lloyd Martin will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Mr. Drymon will lie in state at the church from 1:30-2:00 P.M. Tuesday prior to the funeral service.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
