Sam B. 'Sammy' Gee

Sam B. "Sammy" Gee, age 76 of Gainesville, Ga. died Thursday March 13, 2014 at the N.E. Ga. Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Services will be held at 2 PM Sunday March 16, 2014 at the Little-Davenport Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Jimmy Peck and the Rev. Whitt Martin will officiate and interment will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church cemetery in Dahlonega, Ga. The family will receive friends Saturday March 15, 2014 at the funeral home from 5 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Welcome Worship Center church building fund C/O Mary Westmoreland 1517 Hwy. 17 Sautee, Ga. 30571

Mr. Gee was born in Gainesville, Ga. on May 25, 1937, He was the last living employee of the Gainesville Midland Railroad, retiring after 45 years of service, the railroad company was also later known as Seaboard Coastline and CSX. He took many of the local railroad employees under his wing and trained them. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Bell Gee, Sr. and Fannie Jarrard Gee.
