Myra Jean Bennett Wood

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Myra Jean Bennett Wood, age 67, of Hartwell who passed away on Thursday March 13th, 2014 at her residence. Ms. Wood was born in Hull. She is preceded in death by her father, Rev. J. C. Bennett and her husband, Robert Wood. She is survived by her mother, Mary Maddox Bennett Porter of Commerce; son, Jason Porter of Albany; daughters, Renee Porter Hodges of TN, Amy (Tom) Porter Brown of Alto, and Cynthia Porter Allen of Nashville; step-sons, David Wood, Mike Wood, Emory Wood, and Ronnie Wood; step-daughter, Martha Campbell; brothers, Rev. Lonnie (Betty) Bennett of Hartwell, James Bennett of Commerce, Jon (Tracy) Bennett of Commerce; sister, Pam (Charles) Bennett Scarborough of Hartwell; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday March 14th ,2014 from 6PM until 9 PM. Services will be held at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday March 15th, 2014 at 2 PM, with Rev. Lonnie Bennett, Rev. Gary Thompson and Kathy Audulewicz officiating. Following the service the body will be cremated.
