James Curtis McNeese, age 78 of Gainesville, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Private Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
Mr. McNeese was born April 20, 1935 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Luna Vincent McNeese and Jewell Josephine Smith McNeese. He was retired from DeKalb County Board of Education as an Assistant Director of Finance and was a member of Clarkston Baptist Church. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 3rd Armored Division in Germany from September 1955 through August 1961 and was a member of Clarkston Masonic Lodge #492.
Mr. McNeese is survived by his wife of 60 years, Juanita Hiott McNeese of Gainesville, daughters, Catherine McNeese Webb of Gainesville, Linda McNeese Luke of Hendersonville, North Carolina and Pamela McNeese Jones of Jacksonville, Florida, grandchildren, Melissa Stephens of Gainesville, Kate Perry of Cornelia, Heather Martin of Oakwood, Matthew Jones of Atlanta, Theresa Henion of Cumming, Amanda Jones-Sommers of Cumming, Elisa Jones of Gainesville, Jonathan Jones of Oakwood and David Jones of Oakwood, great-grandchildren, Madeline Stephens, Austin Stephens, Rose Perry and Alice Jones-Sommers, brother, Lt. Col. Thomas Vincent McNeese of Greenville, SC and nieces, Jean Sword of McDonough, Georgia and Judy Reyes of Greenville, South Carolina.
