Mr. John Edwin Hulsey, age 85 of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Joe Hulsey and Reverend James Elrod will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 5 - 9 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Hulsey was born February 13, 1929 in Cumming, Georgia to the late Conner Wyatt Hulsey and Ruby Samples Hulsey. He was the owner/operator of Acme Exterminating Company for over 40 years. John served in the U. S. Air Force for 3 years and attended Lakewood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carolyn Evans Hulsey, his daughter, Margaret McNally, granddaughter, Tina Maddox, grandson, David Tetrault and two of his sisters, Alene Abercrombie and Jean Veal.
Mr. Hulsey is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Ronald E. & Kaye Hulsey of Gainesville, daughters & sons-in-law, Martha & Ray Smalley of Gaffney, South Carolina, Deborah & Jack Christie of St. Petersburg, Florida, Connie & Andrew Watjen of Woodstock, Georgia, 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brother & sister-in-law, W. Talmadge & Jimmie Hulsey of Gainesville, sisters, Montree Stephens of Otto, North Carolina, Euphemia Stephens of Gainesville and Olene Stevens of Murrayville and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Ronnie Green Heart Center, 743 Spring Street, NE, Gainesville, Georgia 30501.
