Mrs. Peggy Baker, 81 of Gainesville died Wednesday March 5, 2014 at her residence.
Born in Clarke County, Mrs. Baker had lived in Hall County for most of her life. She had worked at McClellan's and Sewing Circle Fabrics for a number of years and also volunteered at Gateway House and Children with Special Needs. Mrs. Baker was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Jolliff, Cleveland; sons and daughter-in-law; Rev. Steve and Lynn Baker, Gainesville; grandchildren, Kristi Simmons, Winder; Jennifer and Brandon Gibson, Gainesville; Jared and Kimberly Baker, Watkinsville; great grandchildren, Hastin Simmons, Winder; McClain Gibson and Brantley Gibson, both of Gainesville, brother abd sister-in-law, Dan and Bessie Burgess, McDonough; brother, Ronald Burgess, Atlanta.
Mrs. Baker is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Baker, mother, Nora Marshall and sister, Norma Burgess.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday March 7, 2014 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Lamar Purcell and Rev. Steve Baker will officiate. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday March 6 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Bethany Baptist Church, 900 Cardinal Drive, Gainesville, Ga. 30501 or Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Parkway Suite 222, Gainesville, Ga. 30501.
