Tony Garner

Max Anthony (Tony) Garner, 72, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014 at his residence in Metter, Georgia after a short battle with cancer.

He was born and raised in Bessemer City, North Carolina and moved with his family to Gainesville in 1979. He graduated from Western Carolina University where he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. He retired from The Southern Link and was the long-time owner of The Wood Shed gift shop in Helen, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David & Nellie Garner of NC.
Survivors include: Daughters: Gina (Keith) Caston, Shelly Garner, all of Gainesville
Brother: David Garner of St. Petersburg, Florida Grandson: Harrison Caston of Gainesville Granddaughters: Taylor & Carly Buffington of Gainesville.

In addition he is also survived by the mother of his children, Pat Garner.

The family will hold a private memorial service at Tybee Island, Georgia at a future date.
