Anthony C. Thornton, Sr

Anthony C. Thornton, Sr., age 51 of Dahlonega, GA passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

Anthony was the foundation of his family; a loving husband, dad, and best friend, our rock. He lived most of his life in Lumpkin County, and had worked at Moore's Hardware in Dahlonega for the past 13 ½ years. He was a Christian.

Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Roy Rufus Thornton; and stepfather, "Papa Cotton" Askew.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Thornton; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony "Bubba" Thornton, Jr and Brandi Bellew; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Thornton and Fabricio Pintos, all of Dahlonega, GA; mother, Sarahbelle Thornton, Ruskin, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Ricky Thornton and Cheryl Berry, Dahlonega, GA; brother, Lamar Thornton, Murrayville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and David Johns, Dahlonega, GA. A number of nieces and nephews who thought the world of Anthony also survive, along with sons by choice, Rick Carden, Daniel Chattin, and Nick Kerns.

A memorial service for Anthony is scheduled for 4 PM Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Jason Fuller will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega one hour prior to the service.
