Virginia 'Jenny' Matthews

Virginia "Jenny" Matthews 87, of Gainesville passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 following a period of declining health.



Born in Fayetteville, Ark. on January 28, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John Fredrick and Bessie Gertrude White Hann. She moved to Gainesville in 2007 from Cumming. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Chapel Church of Christ.



Mrs. Matthews was known as an encourager.



In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Matthews; son, Paul Matthews and all her siblings.



She is survived by her daughter, Betty J. Matthews of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Ted and Susie Matthews of Roanoke, VA; Granddaughters and spouses, Miracle and Dave Quelle, Melanie and Donovan Stuprich, Mallory and Andrew Grady; 9 great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.



A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday March 2, 2014 at Grace Chapel Church of Christ in Cumming where she was a member for many years. Minister Kurt Picker will officiate.
