Darcee McMillan Banks, age 94, of Cumming, GA and formerly of Buford, GA passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren G. Banks; and two great grandchildren, Carrie David and Austin Tacker. She is survived by her daughters, Binnie Banks Jansa, Cumming, GA and Dennie Banks Triller and husband, Don, Leesburg, FL; grandchildren, Michael and Wendy Tacker, Mark and Shannon Tacker, Cathryn and Bobby DeBord, Deborah and Brian Sammons, Richard Gray, Robert and Kelly Gray, Tim Jansa and Chris Chandler; twenty great grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren. Mrs. Banks was born June 8, 1919 in Decatur, AL. She was a 1938 graduate of Southside High School in Memphis, TN and was a retired nurse. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Buford where she was also a member of the Silvertone Choir, Abundant Life Fellowship, W.M.U. (Women's Missionary Union) and was a substitute Sunday school teacher. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hills East Cemetery, Memphis, TN. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Silvertone Choir of First Baptist Church of Buford, 4550 Hamilton Mill Road, Buford, GA 30518 in memory of Darcee Banks.
