On Friday, February 21, 2014, Ellis Cantrell slipped away quietly to reunite with loved ones who had gone on before him. Ellis was born to the late Virgil and Irene Cantrell in Cleveland, GA on December 17, 1938. Ellis was educated in the Gainesville Public School System. He attended both Fair Street School and Lanier Technical College. Ellis was honorably discharged after serving in the United States Army. He worked for AT&T, previously Western Electric, for more than 20 years.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his devoted, caring wife of 55 years, Dora Nell; daughter, Celeste Cantrell Strickland (Curtis); daughter, Candice Cantrell; son, Carlos Cantrell.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 705 Summit Street, Gainesville, GA 30501 at 1:00pm. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Wimberly Funeral Home at 325 Summit Street, Gainesville, GA 30501 between 7:00pm
