Reba Jones Reed, age 75 of Buford, GA died Sunday, February 16, 2014 following a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 3:30 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Dr. Tommy Green and Rev. Matt Stacy will officiate. Interment will follow in Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive Friends Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 12-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the Family request contributions be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or to The Reba Reed Food Service Kitchen c/o First Baptist Church Buford. Reba was preceded in death by her parents James Verlon Jones and Myrtie Bell Jones of Gainesville and sister Jenneter Clark, Chestnut Mountain. Reba is survived by her husband of 54 years, John Garrett Reed, Buford. Daughters and Sons In-law, Karen and Mickey Maddox, Buford, Angela and Jeff Henderson, Buford. Grandchildren, Amanda and PJ Martin, Buford, Lauren Henderson, Buford, Cameron Henderson and Lauren Farmer, Buford, Michael Maddox and Fiancé Lenny Brooks, Buford. Sister, Ouida Strickland, Flowery Branch, Sisters and Brothers In-law, Barbara and Bobby Davis, Buford, Brenda and David Frost, MI. Brother and Sister In-law, Jimmy and Ramona Jones, Gainesville. Brother In-law, Kenneth Clark, Chestnut Mountain. Reba was born in Hoschton and lived her married life in Buford. She was a 1956 graduate of Gainesville High School. She owned and operated Reed's Childcare in Buford for 15 years. Reba was a member of First Baptist Church Buford where she served as teller, greeter, Sunday School Secretary but was best known for her 18 years of service cooking fellowship meals. Reba's greatest joy and passion was caring for her husband, children and grandchildren whom lovingly called her "Mu".
