Kim Reith Martiny

Kim Reith Martiny, 74, of Cumming, GA passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Embracing Hospice, Cumming, GA. He was born in Neenah, WI to the late Keith and Marion Martiny. He graduated from Carroll College in Wauskesha, WI, in 1964. After completing college he entered the United States Navy and went to flight training in Pensacola, FL. He served as a Crypto Security Officer and also as Director of Special Services in Kenitra, Morocco. He was sent to Vietnam in 1964 and served as Special Services Officer running the Officer's Club and 8 hotels for the Navy.
Upon completion of his military duties, Kim joined Container Corporation in their folding carton division in Chicago, IL and NYC. In 1968 he was sent to Cincinnati, OH to service the Proctor and Gamble account. In 1975 he joined the Baer, Kemble and Spicer Advertising Agency and eventually purchased and ran the agency under the name of Martiny and Company until 1998.
In 2001 Kim began working as a Development Director for Mercy Hospital Anderson in Cincinnati from which he retired in 2008. During his time in Cincinnati, Kim served on many boards and civic organizations including serving as President of the Arthritis Foundation of Greater Cincinnati.
He moved to Cumming, GA in 2008 where he was active in St. Brendan's Catholic Church as a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also served on the Foundation Board of Lanier Technical College.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Spicer Martiny of Cumming, GA; children, Lauren and Anand Panchal of Palm Beach, FL., Ryan and Allison Martiny of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Riley Christian and William Jacob Martiny of Atlanta, GA; siblings; Sharon Martiny Stieler of Nashville, TN, Jackie and William Dickens of Neenah, WI, Richard and Judith Thorson Martiny of Andersonville, GA, Lori Vance Martiny of Chicago, IL.; and 35 nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Brendan's Catholic Church, Cumming, GA.
Interment will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the St. Brendan's Catholic Church Endowment Fund.
