Billy Ray Collins

Billy Ray Collins, age 65 of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Timberidge Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Scott Wilson and Reverend Junior Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 7, 2014 and Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 5 - 9 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Collins was born July 22, 1948 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Claude Collins and Lois Abernathy Collins. He was retired from Frito-Lay as a salesman and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Betty Collins Mitchell and his brothers, Jack, Jimmy and Bobby Collins.

Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Brenda Broome Collins of Gainesville, daughter & son-in-law, Brandi & Jason Browning of Gainesville, grandson, Jadon Browning of Gainesville and granddaughter, Madison Browning of Gainesville.
