Robert Winfred Smith born July 16, 1933, passed away on Thursday February 6, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Sunday February 9, 2014 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. The Rev. David Skinner and Powell Sailors will officiate. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday February 8, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
Mr. Smith was a native of Hall County and a lifetime resident. He owned and operated Arrow Tire Company from 1959 until his retirement in 2004. He had been a devoted member of Chestatee Baptist Church since age 10.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, George Washington Smith and Lillie Ola Skinner Smith; brothers and sisters: Eva Loudell Smith, John Alvin Smith; Glenn Henry Smith, Carl Thornton Smith, Howard Raphiel Smith, Annie Effie Smith Martin, Madge Ola Smith Martin, George Washington Smith, Jr., Ernest Wayne Smith, and Mary Nell Smith Martin. He is survived by one brother-in-law, Ray Martin and two sisters-in-law, Montine Smith and Clarace Young.
Immediate survivors include his wife, Georgia Marrell Bennett Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Donald W. and Garnett (Katie) Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Tony Black all of Gainesville. He is also survived by five granddaughters and grandsons-in-law; Natalie and John McGarvey, Anna Kate and John Michael Williams, Fran and Justin McCain, Haley and David Corry, and Julie and Dustin Oliver. In addition, he is survived by eleven great grandchildren.
