Christopher John 'Chris' McCarthy

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Christopher John "Chris" McCarthy, 58, of Jefferson, Georgia who passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Mr. McCarthy was born in France, the son of the late John Joseph McCarthy and the late Jacqueline Decouchant McCarthy. Mr. McCarthy was a dog, animal and nature lover. He was a fisherman, who enjoyed being outdoors and loved his family.
Mr. McCarthy is survived by his wife, Melanie Scammacca McCarthy of Jefferson, daughters Melissa McCarthy and fiancé Jason Dyer of Cumming, Jennifer McCarthy of Fort Benning, and Angelica McCarthy and boyfriend Ryan Degonia of Jefferson. Three grandchildren, Jasmine McDaniel, Brison McDaniel and Bradley Meeks.
Memorial services will be held 6:00 P.M. Saturday, February 8, 2014 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Vaughn Howington, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6pm on Saturday, prior the service. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 225 Peachtree Street, NE #550, Atlanta, Georgia 30329.
