Jerline Stephens

Jerline Stephens, 92, of Flowery Branch passed away Friday January 31, 2014 following a period of declining health.

Born January 31, 1922 in Dawson County to the late Nay and Eva Howard, she lived in Flowery Branch for the past 64 years. Mrs. Stephens was a homemaker and the oldest member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. She was very devoted to her family, her church, enjoyed gardening and sharing what she grew with others. Jerline was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Glen Stephens; sons, Randall Stephens, Dennis Stephens; great grandchildren, Benjamin Pruett, Felecia Stephens; sisters, Juanita Wigington, Barbara Reed; and brothers, Hugh Howard and Charles Howard.

Surviving are her daughter and son in law, Linda and James Pruett, Dawsonville; daughter in law, Barbara Ann Stephens Bryant, Gainesville; sister and brother in law, Shirley and L. D. Grizzle, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Tommy and Patricia Stephens, Jimmy and Meghann Pruett, David and Donna Pruett, Jonathan and Amy Pruett, Tonya Helton, Tammy Stephens; eight great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Sunday February 2, 2014 at 3 o'clock at Sweetwater Baptist Church. Rev. Darrin Sams, Rev. Doug DeLong, Rev. Harold Evans and Rev. Wendell Thompson will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday after 12 noon at the funeral home.
