John David Nesbitt, 28, of Auburn, GA passed away on January 29, 2014 after losing his courageous battle with ALS. He was preceded in death by his father John R. Nesbitt, brother Chris Puckett and grandparents Nathan and Lois Ray. He is survived by his six-year-old son Jackson Hunter Nesbitt; mother Helen Ray Nesbitt; grandparents Jack and Betty Nesbitt; niece Kristin Puckett and several aunts, uncles and cousins. John was born June 14, 1985 in Atlanta, GA. He was a 2003 graduate of Apalachee High School in Winder, GA and a 2010 graduate of Gainesville State College in Gainesville, GA where he received his Associates degree in Pre-Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Environmental Spatial Analysis with certificates in Environmental Science and Geographical Information Science. He was currently employed with Georgia Power Company with over three years of service. He was a member of Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Dacula, GA. John was a loyal friend and a loving man to his son, his family and his friends. His passions were hunting, fishing, UGA football, baseball and he found great solitude in nature.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2014 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Brenda Westmoreland officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014.
