Julian Lee Garrett

Memorial services for Julian Lee Garrett, age 72, of Mt. Airy, will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 4:00 PM from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.

Mr. Garrett died January 25, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Born in Hiawassee, Georgia on September 28, 1941, Mr. Garrett was the son of the late Horace and Callie Nations Garrett. Mr. Garrett was a farmer and he was retired with 30 years of loyal service from Mt. Vernon Mills where he worked in the card room. In his spare time Mr. Garrett enjoyed gardening and spending time with his loving family. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Garrett is preceded in death by daughter Pamela Garrett.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Shirley Ann Wheeler Garrett of Mt. Airy, granddaughter Julie Deleon and husband Roman, grandson Shann Franklin and wife Rebekah, great granddaughter Kaylie Whitfield Brookshire and husband Blake Brookshire, great granddaughter Katelyn Whitfield, and great grandsons Corey Whitfield and Asher Julian Franklin.
