Maxine Swope Biller

Obituary Date: Monday, January 27, 2014



Maxine Swope Biller, 93, of Roswell, GA, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2014.



She was born in North Platte, NE, spent her childhood in Pomona, CA and in 1941 married her high school sweetheart, John H. Biller in the Panama Canal Zone. They lived in Lima, Peru for 10 years. She raised her daughters, Nancy Biller Bowen (Carl T.) and Carol Biller Gaffey (James F.) in South Miami, FL, before moving to Roswell in 1983.



Maxine's greatest love was her family. She was beloved by many because of her outgoing personality and her ability to make others feel special.



Maxine enjoyed playing golf and bridge at Horseshoe Bend Country Club. A lifelong Episcopalian, she served on the altar guild of her church. She was an active member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.



Maxine is survived by her daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren: Mark S. Bowen II (Catherine F.), Catherine E. Bowen, Emily A. Webber, Nathan M. Webber, and step-grandsons James F. Gaffey Jr. (Jennifer G.) and Sean R. Gaffey.



A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at St. Columba Episcopal Church, 939 James Burgess Road, Suwanee, GA 30024.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Columba's Episcopal Church Altar Guild.
