Bobby G. "Robby" Robertson,Jr., 52 of Flowery Branch, Ga. made his flight home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday afternoon, January 25, 2014 while surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Gainesville, he attended Gainesville High School. Bobby went to work for Metropolitan Government in Nashville, Tennessee in 1998 and enjoyed the team that he worked with at McCabe Golf Course until a heart condition caused his early retirement in March 2009. Bobby lived life to the fullest, enjoying his golf, football games and many friendships. He never met a stranger and had a captivating smile for all that he came in contact with.
During his illness, he made many special friends at St. Thomas Hospital-West in Nashville, Tennessee. He was able to make his journey back to Gainesville recently and enjoyed re-associating with his longtime friends and school buddies. During the past few weeks of Bobby's declining health, the family is very greatful for the wonderful care from Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Bobby is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Robertson, maternal grandparents, Hoyt and Stella Bennett, paternal grandparents, Fred and Mary Lucy Robertson, brother-in-law, Randall Lee Bruce, Sr. and nephew, Randall Lee Bruce.
Survivors include his father and wife, Bobby and Angela Robertson, Lula, GA, sister and brother-in-law, Sheryl and Chuck Reed, Flowery Branch, GA, sisters, Susan Robertson and Beth Robertson, Gainesville, GA, brother, Justin Robertson, Lula, nieces, Tiffany Reed, Flowery Branch, GA., and Tabatha Bourchier, Winder, GA, and many friends and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday January 28, 2014 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Rusty Newman will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday January 27, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Eagle Ranch, P.O. Box 7200, Chestnut Mountain, GA 30502.
