Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Helen Irene Allison, age 80 of Cleveland. Mrs. Allison passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Sunday, January 26, 2014 in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Phillip Robinson and Rev. William Baker will officiate. Interment will follow in Zion Interdenominational Church Cemetery.
Helen was born in White County on November 8, 1933 to the late Dode and Bonnie Sutton Robinson, where she remained a lifelong resident. She attended Zion Interdenominational Church, where she was a member. Helen worked many years as a machine operator with Ames Textiles and later as clerk with the White County Farm Bureau. Over these years, she touched many lives, loving every person that she met. Helen was a wonderful and loving wife and mother of her precious children, and loved and adored all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, leaving behind a beautiful legacy for all to see.
Mrs. Allison is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Allison; daughter, Debbie Cochran; son, Terry Allison; grandson, Brandon Allison; as well as her two brothers, J.C. and Hoyt Robinson.
Mrs. Allison is survived by her son, Steve Allison, Cleveland; son and daughter in law, Stacy and Jennifer Allison, Cleveland; son and daughter in law, Benjie and Margo Allison, Cleveland; daughter and son in law, Gail and Jack Holden, Hayesville, NC; daughter and son in law, Lynn and Cliff Fain, Cleveland; daughter and son in law, Bonita and Paul Seabolt, Cleveland; daughter in law, Trena Allison, of Cleveland; and her thirteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her sister, Fran Hooper, Dahlonega; three brothers, Harlan Robinson, Cleveland; Coy Robinson, Dahlonega; and Bill Robinson, also of Dahlonega. Helen was dearly loved by her family and friends and she will be truly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Chatuge Regional Nursing Home, of Hiawassee, for the care given to Helen and the compassion shown to her family.
The family will receive friends at Alexander Funeral Home on Saturday, January 25, 2014, from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 9pm.
The family has requested that memorial donations be made to Chatuge Regional Nursing Home, 386 Belaire Dr., Hiawassee, GA 30546. Flowers will also be acknowledged.
