Ondee Ravan

Dr. Ondee Ravan was born in Mossy Creek Georgia and raised in Gainesville, Ga where she also retired. She passed away at her residence on Thursday, January 23, 2014.

She is a graduate of Gainesville High School and received her BA from Brenau College, and she received her MA and doctorate in English Education from the University of Georgia. Dr. Ravan spent her career as a college professor at Young Harris College and then at Georgia Southwestern University where she also served as Chairman of the Department of Developmental Studies. She served on the Regents Advisory Committee for Developmental Studies. She was often recognized for her professionalism and excellence in her career and served in many advisory and evaluative roles. She also served and led in many professional and charity organizations including the Business and Professional Women's Club in Americus and St Paul United Methodist Church in Gainesville.

She was a beloved aunt who delighted in children and is survived by her sister, Sarah Moore, and her niece and nephew, Jim Moore and Jane Wood and their families.

A Private Service will be held to honor her at Mossy Creek.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dorsey-Ravan Scholarship fund at Brenau Women's College.
