Paul F. Helton

Paul F. Helton, 79, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday January 22, 2014 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a sudden illness.

Born November 24, 1934 to the late J. W. and Mary Helton, he lived most of his life in Dawson County. Paul retired from the U. S. D. A. after 33 years of service after which he was employed by the Dawson County Government for over 10 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran and was a member of Etowah Lodge #222 F & AM for over 40 years. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Jessie Smith, Ruby Cooper, Hazel Castleberry; and brothers, Roy Helton and R. C. Helton.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Eva Helton; sons, Rick Helton and Charles Helton, all of Dawsonville.

Funeral services will be held Friday January 24, 2014 at 2 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tommy Ross and Rev. C. B. Martin will officiate. Interment will follow in the Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
