Billy Emmett Collier

Mr. Billy Emmett Collier, age 74, of Dahlonega, GA died Monday, January 20, 2014, at his home following an extended illness.

Billy was born in Forsyth County, GA April 19, 1939. He had lived in Lumpkin County for the past 48 years. He was retired from the Mohawk Industries Pine Tree Plant in Dahlonega and was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Forsyth County.

Billy was the son of the late Thomas Alfred Collier and Minnie Wehunt Collier and was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Jimmy Collier.

Billy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Eva Chester Collier, Dahlonega, GA; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Ora Roland, Lee Chester, Ola and Jerry Davis, Era and Herman Rider, all of Dahlonega, GA; nieces and nephews, Dianne and Tony Allison, Barbara and Mike Garmon, Bobby Lee Mayfield, Lynn Pruett, Karen and Gordon Woody, Jeffrey Chester, Hannah and David Grizzle, Janet and Mun Jackson, Michael and Ashley Chester, Matthew Chester, Frankie and Sean Nagel, Clark and Lisa Rider, Pam and Kenneth Moss.

Numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Billy are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Tony Allison and Rev. Jimmy Chester will officiate.

Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawson County.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 6 PM until 9 PM, all day on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, and again on Thursday until the time of service.
