Eva Bearden, 94, of Dawsonville passed away Monday January 20, 2014 at Gold City Convalescent Center following a period of declining health.
Born September 18, 1919 to the late Carl and Maude Sewell, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. Eva was a homemaker who possessed a passion for working her flower gardens, gardening and canning. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Delores Kirby; grandchildren, Chad Timms, Glenn Kirby, Kimberly Kirby; and sisters, Alma Montcalm and Thelma Reece.
Surviving are her children, Leon and Mary Bearden, Dawsonville, Ronnie Bearden, Dawsonville, Janelle Reeves, Dawsonville, Judy and David Dospoy, Saginaw, Michigan, Tony and Shirley Bearden, Dawsonville, Ricky Bearden, Dawsonville, Steve Bearden, Dahlonega; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and a great great grandson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday January 23, 2014 at 2 o'clock at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Rev. Jason Hamby and Rev. Larry Beck will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to assist with final expenses.
