Dale Andrew Reins age 93 of Flowery Branch, Ga. Died Friday January 17, 2014 in Gainesville, Ga. He was born October 9, 1920 in Knoxville, Iowa to Jenny Trickett Reins and Albert "Spike" Reins. He was the first born son, his only brother, Donald Dee Reins was born June 30, 1922. Dale completed high school at a Seventh Day Adventist School, Oak Park Academy in 1939 and began medical studies at Vanderbilt University, His studies were interrupted and he entered the US Army. He married Hazel Isabel Cocke on May 13, 1942 and that marriage was blessed with two children, Sandra Elaine Reins Watson, RN and her brother Dale Andrew Reins. While in the Army Mr. Reins spent time in India near Burma and China, he worked as a medic and also learned speak Chinese. He reports a meeting with Mrs. Chang Kai Chek, who complimented him on his work. Toward the end of the war he was called home due to the death of his father. After the war Dale returned to Vanderbilt University and later Peabody University and worked fulltime in masonry. He later completed his Doctorate in Education in Oklahoma. Dr. Reins worked for the FAA in Oklahoma and headed the Physiology Dept. at the Naval Research lab which he retired from in 1982. Dr. Reins published over 60 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals. The Reins family adopted three children in 1958, John Phillip Reins, Albert Jackson Reins and Karen Lee Reins.
