Doris Carlyle England

Obituary Date: Saturday, January 18, 2014
Doris Carlyle England, 75, passed away Saturday January 18, 2014 following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 21, 2014 at 2pm at Talmo Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Taylor, and Rev. Mark Spence officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday January 20, 2014 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel.

Mrs. England was active in her church and community where she was a member of Talmo Baptist Church for the past 26 years and had served as Director of Sunday School and currently served as Director of Women's Ministry, leading a ladies Bible Study twice annually, and as a member of the Care Ministry Committee.

She served as a volunteer at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville GA serving at the South Tower Patient Information Desk for many years. Additionally, she provided a weekly meal to My Sister's Place, a shelter for homeless women and children located in Gainesville.

She was a retiree of Gainesville College where she served as Administrative Assistant in the Library as well as other positions on campus including office of the President.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt and Cora Carlyle of Pendergrass, brothers Horace Carlyle U.S. Navy, Royce Carlyle Knoxville TN, and Cecil Carlyle Homer GA.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years Eugene H. (Gene) England of Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law Matt and Tanya England of Gainesville, granddaughters Cari and Micaeala England of Gainesville, sister and brother-in-law Betty and Ray Rogers of Gainesville sister Kathy Finley of Dawsonville, brothers and sister-in-laws Boyd and Terry Carlyle of Pendergrass, Wayne and Paulette Carlyle of Gillsville, sister-in-law Sandra Carlyle of Knoxville TN, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives .

In lieu of flowers make contributions to Hospice of Northeast GA 2150 Limestone Parkway STE 222 Gainesville GA 30501 or Gainesville Hall County Cancer society 2565 Thompson Bridge Rd STE 114 Gainesville GA 30501.
