Mary Dalphy (Dack) Sailors

Obituary Date: Saturday, January 18, 2014
Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm Wednesday January 22, 2014 at the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Jarrard officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Hall Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday January 21, 2014 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-9pm at the funeral home.

Miss Sailors died January 18, 2014 at her niece Charlotte Godfrey's residence following an extended illness.

Miss Sailors was born January 23, 1925 in Jackson Co. to the late T. R. and Mae Bell Sailors but lived most of her life in Hall Co. She was a member of Harmony Hall Baptist Church. She was saved at the age of 15 under the preaching of Rev. C.E. Vaughan. She worked at Gainesville Mill and Chicopee Mill most all of her life. She was known by everyone as Aunt Dack. Mary never married but helped raise lots of nieces and nephews. She loved fishing, yard work, going to the mountains and her dog.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother Rev. H.W. Sailors, 3 sisters Rosie Mae Little, Lottie Fowler and Lola Saine.

Miss Sailors is survived by her niece Charlotte Godfrey and several other nieces and nephews,a great niece Christie and Ramon Melendrez of Gainesville two very special great great nieces Andrea Nguyen and Selina Melendrez of Gainesville, her special childhood friend Jessie Cain of Cumming GA.
